Learn about film director OLIVER STONE
Oliver Stone was born in New
York on September 15, 1946. It is a film director and screenwriter. He has won
three Oscars and five Golden Globes for his work. His film production is
inspired by real events. His first contact with the movie industry were not so
well known films, but is characterized as a highly successful writer.
In youth he served to the U.S. in Army Infantry in Vietnam, from
1967-1968, at that time he was wounded twice, which marked him for the rest of
your life, because of these facts was
awarded the Bronze Star for valor. Upon returning to America, he completed his
undergraduate studies at the New York University Film School.
Oliver Stone, has
contributed nearly 200 pages of essays on movies, culture, politics and history
in the book "Oliver Stone's USA." In 1997 the publisher St. Martin's
Press published his first novel, entitled "A Child's Night Dream"
("The dream of a child") based on the experiences of young Stone.
Some of his scripts were:
Midnight Express Alan Parker (1978), Conan the Barbarian, John Milius (1982)
and Scarface, the Scarface Brian De Palma (1983).
